The adobe Photoshop Lightroom is now Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, with the same functionality and unique features. If you’re looking for an all-new photography experience, then the Lightroom classic CC is an application you should definitely check out. As a beginner using this app, you will start by importing your photos to Lightroom. First you open the Lightroom Classic CC on your computer. In the Library module, click the Import button to open an Import window. If you have inserted a camera memory card into your computer, the Import window may open automatically. Once the link is opened, click on the import settings, you can import from a computer, hard drive, or camera into your Lightroom Classic CC catalogue.
When importing from a computer or hard drive, on the left, select the folder(s) of photos to import. If you don’t see your photos, make sure Included Subfolders are checked. At the top, click “Add” to import without having to move your photos, you can also uncheck the photos you don’t want to import. On the right, you can also choose additional import options.
When importing from a camera, on the left, select the camera card from which to import. You can choose to Eject (the card) after import which is safer so you don’t lose files.
At the top, click “copy” because the “add” and “move” options are not available when importing from a camera. You can also uncheck photos you don’t want to import.
On the right, in the Destination panel, you can choose how to organize imported photos either by date, into one selected folder, or by subfolders, and preview the import destination in your file structure. You also can choose additional import options available on the right. To Import your photos click the Import button in the bottom-right corner of the Import window to start the import. Lightroom Classic CC automatically switches to the Library module, where the imported photos appear.
Once your photos have been successfully imported, you can organize, edit, and share them in Lightroom Classic CC. You can create a synced collection so you will be able to access, edit, and share your newly imported photos with Lightroom Classic CC on your mobile device or web browser. A collection is a simple way to organize your photos, like a photo album. Usually for first-time users, your newly imported photos will be automatically added to the collection “My First Collection.”
When you’re ready to move up from Photoshop Elements, Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop together will help you take your photography to a new level. You can import your Photoshop Elements catalogue into Lightroom Classic CC with just a few clicks. Organize and correct your photos in the Lightroom Classic CC user-friendly environment, turning to Photoshop for more creative editing, like combining multiple images or moving objects around. The Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop, which are both included in the Creative Cloud Photography plan, are all you need to edit, organize, and access your photos anywhere you go.
